AXA Coach Service is currently Malawi’s largest passenger transport company. AXA started operating in December 2006. However, despite, the short period during which the Company has been in operation, the Company has made very long strides, establishing itself as the preferred domestic passenger carrier.
AXA operates coach and bus services nationwide under the five cornerstones of Punctuality, Reliability, Friendliness, Luxury and Comfortability.
AXA started off with just 3 coaches. In September, 2007 the fleet grew to 6 and in December, 2007 the fleet again grew to 18 coaches and buses. Currently, 20 more coaches and buses that were recently ordered have began to arrive. AXA operates a service to almost ever district in Malawi. The four types of services available include: AXA Executive Coach, Luxury Coach, City Trouper and Country Commuter.

A premier non-stop service between Blantyre and Lilongwe, tailor made for the Executives. It is a full-house Coach with: personalised air conditioning and reading lights, a toilet on board, velvet reclining seats, a coffee percolator, TV and DVD facilities and plenty of leg room. Snacks and drinks are served on board as part of the package. Additionally, our latest on-board magazine published every other month is distributed free-of-charge for your reading pleasure. |
The Luxury coach has all the same facilities as the Executive, save for the toilet. Currently, the Luxury Coach travels between Blantyre and Mzuzu. En route, the coach stops at all districts and major trading centres totalling approximately 10 stops between Blantyre and Mzuzu.
The City Trooper is very similar to the Luxury Coach in terms of facilities on board. Currently, the City Trooper travels between Blantyre and Karonga (the northern tip of Malawi) via Zomba (old capital), Lilongwe, Kasungu and Mzimba. The City Trooper also stops at districts and major trading centres.
The Country Commuter is an high-quality standard bus. These newly acquired buses have state-of-the-art facilities including MP3 Music facilities. Country commuter buses connect all districts and major centres across Malawi. Current routes for Country Commuter are:
